21st Century Chemistry Class Help
For a difficult chemistry course, sometimes even good students need an extra nudge in the right direction. A cost-effective way to get such spot-assistance is to do it online. I serve chemistry students via two different methods: via online video chat together (Skype, Google Hangouts, or Zoom), or via email and YouTube videos. My rate for both methods is $35/hour.
The online chat sessions allow screen-sharing, so we can draw out equations and diagrams during the session. The meeting times are flexible because there's no travel involved; as soon as you've got enough help, we just disconnect and you only pay for the exact time that you've actually needed to use.
Some questions can just be taken care of via email. Often I will record a short YouTube video for a student, and send the link via email. Here's an example of what I did for a strong student in physical biochemistry (Chem 156) at UCLA. The advantage of this method is that the student can stop and play back or re-read the help over and over again at no further charge.
Backwards-Compatibility
Of course, some folks just want good old-fashioned, one-on-one, in-person assistance. If we can meet within five miles of my home addreess, then maybe you can hire me, too. My rate is $60/hour.
I feel that my best work has been in support of college chemistry students.

Knowledgeable, patient chemistry tutor - knows his chemistry!
Glen met me three times during the week of my chemistry mid term. Thank goodness he was accommodating to my schedule! Glen was extremely knowledgable and explained chemistry concepts thoroughly. No matter how many time I asked him to repeat the explanation, he was patient. He also was able to give context to the problems we worked, which helped me remember them during my exam. He explained absorbance, wave lengths, ph buffers, acids and bases, equivalence points and walked me though ice tables. Glen patiently worked calculations with me and made sure I understood what I was doing.

Excellent, quick, and knowledgeable!
Glen was on time, thorough, and never lost me. It is a shame that he doesn't teach as a profession because I'm sure he would be an awesome professor. We covered some concepts in Chemical Kinetics as part of the 2nd year College Chemistry course material. It was very hard for me to find detailed information online which is why I turned to WyzAnt. Sometimes it is just better to have someone at your side walking you through the problems step by side.

Very impressed!
Glen has done an amazing job tutoring my twins in AP Chemistry. He really knows how to take complex ideas and concepts and explain them in a way that the kids can grasp. He has also done a lot of research into the actual AP exam and what will be expected of them. Very impressed!

Look no further, the best chemistry tutor ever
I'm sure there are lots of tutors that have excellent knowledge of chemistry, but what good is it if he/she cannot communicate or share that knowledge in an effective manner. Glen has this uncanny ability to break down the problem beyond the original question being asked to the point of the tutee eventually owning the concept. Once you master the concept, successive problems become easy. This is exactly what he did with my daughter and thus helped her achieve high marks on both SAT chemistry and on her AP chemistry (2014 newly revised concept-based). Glen has tons of real world lab-based experience that he shared with my daughter, which is paramount in doing well on the new 2014 AP chemistry test. Glen is a courteous, kind, and mild mannered tutor who provides excellent chemistry tutoring at a bargain price. He is that good!!! I would highly recommend Glen to any potential parents looking for honors/AP level chemistry tutoring.
