Nancy Caruso, from the environmental restoration group GetInsipred, Inc., has furnished us with technical advice. She obtains permits for direct restoration of organisms to underwater locations where they have been depleted along the Orange County shoreline. Our project will be one of several assisted by Nancy Caruso.

Our equipment comes from Learning Equipment Supply Service, another 501c3 non-profit organization.

Marvin, Moira, Amber, and Zinedine are interested in helping me with the setup and maintenance of the tanks and nitrogen cycle. My Chemistry 150 class will use the nitrogen cycle here as an application of oxidation/reduction and acid/base calculations in class.

We will grow red abalone first, to verify that our methods result in abalone survival. Then Nancy will supply us with green abalone to grow. After seven years of growth, the abalone will be restored to the ocean with the help of Nancy and some volunteer divers.
